Hangar One

Hangar One is a very popular venue for all manner of functions from weddings, private parties, charity balls to product launches, exhibitions and conferences. The venue is equipped with the latest hi-tech audio and visual equipment doing away with the need to hire in expensive equipment. Equipped with a large bar and dedicated kitchen and toilets all our customers' drinks and dining needs can be provided to our normal high standard of quality and service.

Hangar One is adjacent to the Aviator Hotel and overlooks the busy grass runways of Sywell Aerodrome, one of the finest airfields in the country. The Hangar was originally is 3 smaller hangars, erected in 1941 to house aircraft used to train RAF pilots during World War II. In 1948 they were combined to form the current single large hangar and in 2000 the hangar was completely renovated, transforming it into an exciting new venue. The bar and kitchen are built into the southern gable end and a passage to the east side connects the Hangar to the Aerodrome Bar and Restaurant. Large doors in the north gable enable access for your equipment, vehicles - or aircraft. The hangar is fully cladded and insulated with a smooth floor, extensive air extraction, lighting and audio systems. Extensive use of wood veneer, period features and sympathetic lighting provides the appropriate ambience for any occasion, including larger weddings - Hangar One has hosted a number of Asian Weddings as we are able seat up to 500 guests around our in-house stage and dance floor. We believe that this location in the middle of the country offers a tremendous facility not only to local but also national companies, as it is easily accessible by road, rail or air. A customer recently informed us that their market research had shown that The Aviator Hotel with Hangar One and Hangar Two is the fourth largest conference centre in the UK. So if you are looking for a large venue we are here and ready for business. We believe there is a market locally for the conference combined with an exhibition type event normally hosted at London venues at London prices. These are typically held by industry associations or conferences organised by consultancies as information seminars. The exhibitions help fund the conferences. Dimensions

The main hall is 110ft x 70ft with a ceiling height of 19ft in the centre and 8ft at the sides. The hangar door gives a clear access of 47ft wide by 12ft 4 ins high. The floor is designed to take the weight of forklifts, trucks, aircraft etc.

The venue can comfortably accommodate 500 people for a banquet or conference.
